Born as a simple mill, it was then converted to a distillery in 1896 by the Duffton-Glenlivet Distillery Co., it was bought a year later by Mackenzie & CO. In 1933 it passed to Arthur Bell & Sons as this malt was a key component of their Bell’s blend. Now it belongs to the Diageo group. There are few official bottlings, it is present in the Flora & Fauna collection and is sold under the brand “The Singleton”. Curiosity: Only 3% of the distillate is bottled as Single Malt.
