Built on the border of the southern Highlands in 1837, until the opening of Kilchoman it was the smallest distillery, since 1982 in “American” hands and then in 2003 it passed to Andrew Symington, also owner of Signatory. Curiosity: in the past some batches were released under the name of “Glenforres” as the old farm-distillery that existed since 1825. A second bottling is marketed as “Ballechin”, with a peaty profile at 50ppm.
