Built in 1959/60 by the Chivas Brothers, it was designed with 3 stills for a triple distillation, an unusual aspect for a Speyside distillery. In 1970 another 2 were added (they were the first gas stills in Scotland) returning to the usual double distillation but in 1999 it was suspended. In 2001 it was bought by Pernod Ricard who brought it back to life in 2013. Curiosity: In the past it produced its own yeasts for fermentation Mainly its malts are used for the Chivas Regal, Passport and 100 Pipers blends It stands in the place of an old mill
