Created under a different name, Mills of Rothes, by James Stuart & CO in 1878 near the Doonie River. Modest distillery, it often remains in the shadows: owned by Diageo it is used for the J&B, a semi-official bottling is found in the “Flora & Fauna” collection. Curiosity: it seems that for the first few years it had an alternative name, much less pronounceable: “Millhaugh”. It still uses purifiers during the distillation process
