Founded in 1833 between the Highlands and Lowlands, near Glasgow. Passed by a fair number of owners, it ended up in the hands of John McLelland and Lang Brothers who changed its name to Glen Guin in 1875 and then gave it back its original name in 1905. In 1965 Glengoyne joined the Robertson & Baxter group which then joined the Edrington Group. In 2003 it was bought by Ian MacLeod Distillers who used it for many blends. Fun fact: it is also known as “Burnfoot”
