Distillation is like Circe’s magic: Glen Elgin’s absurd potion depends on a unique recipe made of long fermentation, slow distillation and condensation of alcoholic vapors inside the worm tubs. Distilled in 2008, single cask # 653 was a Refill Bourbon Hogshead, which produced 180 bottles – bottling took place at the Whiskybroker warehouse in Creetown. Undiluted, not cold filtered. A crunchy and concrete whiskey, which best shows the quality of a full-bodied and complex malt like that of Glen Elgin: very ripe, fruity, able to offer also autumnal and honey tones.
