Worthy Park Estate is a distillery with origins dating back to 1670, when the estate was donated to Lieutenant Francis Prince for the services rendered to Oliver Cromwell during the English conquest of the island, which was then in Spanish hands. Located in the heart of Jamaica, it has been run by only three families in 340 years, making it the oldest still operating distillery in the world. Worthy Park produces rum in pure Jamaican style: double fermentation of the proprietary molasses and distillation using the traditional Pot Still alembic. The result is that of an excellent quality, like this 2007 vintage which ages for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels. Elegant, soft, seductive, it is a rum of exceptional warmth on the palate, configuring a satisfying and round drink. A treat for the most experienced enthusiasts. Bottled at 59%.
Rich and generous on the nose, it offers a layered aromatic range, with hints of ripe banana, pineapple, white melon, citrus hints reminiscent of lime and sweet notes of brown sugar. In the mouth it is warm, enveloping, with elegant toasted hints. Long persistence finish.
